Print Collateral

We produce a variety of print materials, from brochures to mailers to large scale banners.

Market research for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore revealed that potential donors didn’t understand the organization’s programs, were impacted by stigma surrounding issues of hunger and poverty, and wanted to see direct impact and transparency. This 32” x 80” free-standing retractable banner was made to showcase what the Foodbank does for the community, as well as explain exactly where donations go. Portable and durable, it was suitable both for the main lobby and the various events held by the organization.

Digital Designs

Digital designs include logos, social media production, e-newsletters and e-cards, annual reports, etc.

This design is part of a collection of e-cards for the Chesapeake Humane Society. The e-card collection was created for donors to share the experience of supporting an organization with friends and family, and was part of a campaign showcasing a new, playful, personalized tone for the CHS. The digital format can be easily shared and is easy on the environment, and is easily repurposed for print, social, and other channels.

Video

We work on video in all stages, from planning (pre-production) to filming and animation (production) to editing (post-production). We focus on short-form films suitable for events and social media as well as animation suitable for inclusion in other films (e.g., animated logos).

This film was produced for Tidewater Arts Outreach (TAO). It showcases the problem our community faces, social isolation, and a solution, TAO. It was shared on the organization’s annual fundraising event, Party of the Ages, encouraging people to donate to help their neighbors feel less alone using the healing power of the arts.

Website Development

Students can produce microsites focusing on individual campaigns, but also develop webpages for specific goals (e.g., donation pages) with user interface designs based in audience and competitor research. We focus on content management and development platforms that clients can keep updated themselves, ranging from WordPress to Squarespace, and can adapt to whatever a client already uses.

This page design was proposed to highlight the donation process at the Chesapeake Humane Society. After conducting focus groups, the donation “story” was changed from donation amounts to program impact to better connect to audiences. Through the use of high impact images and icons, the page is functional and easy for a user to navigate and access information. Donations are not only monetary, and this page also informs the audience of other ways they can contribute to the organization.

Campaigns

Campaigns are the cornerstone of effective marketing strategy, and we can help you “connect the dots” for your target audiences.

Along with collateral, ROAR proposes broader campaigns ranging from events to social media projects. Going Purple was a campaign for the Chesapeake Humane Society targeting Domestic Violence Awareness month that consisted of events, product design, and a microsite that educated stakeholders on the CHS’s crisis boarding initiative. More importantly, it got them excited about engaging with issues that are often stigmatized.

Product Designs

Students produce on-brand designs for all types of products, including t-shirts, stickers, mugs, or whichever product is best suited to for the target audience and campaign.

Fur Fam tees were produced as swag for volunteers. The colors are on brand for the organization and served as income opportunities, advertisements, and community bonding. Part of the “fur fam” campaign proposal, these products were in response to market research identifying Gen-Z, millennial, and senior women as primary audiences, as well as noting their interest in creating a “cute” community.
