Early in my career, I managed the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine’s Center for Educational Television.  During my tenure, the Center became a nationally recognized production center serving the government, medical publishers, national associations, Illinois Public Television, and Disney.

In 1989, I was awarded a commission as a Navy Reserve Public Affairs Officer. During his Navy career, I was selected to serve as the public affairs officer for the Navy’s Revolution in Training and as Director of Public Affairs for the Chief of the Navy Reserve. My overseas assignments include Deputy Director of Communications for Operation Lifeline, the Pakistan earthquake relief effort, Acting Director of Public Affairs International Security Assistance Force, Afghanistan, and Advisor to the Afghan Ministry of Interior Spokesman.

My Reserve Public Affairs Command tours include Director Naval Reserve Public Affairs Europe, Chief of Naval Information, Joint Public Affairs Support Element Public Affairs, and Navy Public Affairs Support Element.
