Asher graduated with his B.A. in Strategic Communications. He started with an internship with connections in the department and learned to use Adobe Creative Suite Programs to create for clients. His client work experience allowed him to flourish in courses such as COMM 590.
Amanda graduated with an M.S. from our Lifespan and Digital Communication program. With no previous background, she was able to learn how to create with programs like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to help execute her ideas for her client, the Chesapeake Humane Society.
Kayla graduated with an M.S. from our Lifespan and Digital Communication program. Through an assistantship in the department, she was allowed the opportunity to work with Dr. Ted Gournelos to create the ROAR website. She also has learned to use Adobe Creative Suite programs to help make collateral for the Strategic Communications program.
Meaghan graduated with an M.A. from the Institute of Humanities. She learned how to use the amenities of the Den and transitioned those skills to her job. Meaghan loved attending the workshop and getting the opportunities to test out new skills and create for clients.
Daniel graduated with an M.S. from our Lifespan and Digital Communication program. As a student and graduate assistant for ROAR, he produced dozens of projects, ranging from large scale graphics for the Strome Entrepreneurial Center, to documentary social media videos for a muralist, to headshots for students and local professionals.
Nicole graduates this December of 2026 with a B.A. in Strategic Communications. She has a background in Graphic Design and Social Media Marketing. She started in the ROAR program as a student of the fall semester of her senior year. Following that she then worked as the ROAR intern her Spring and Summer Semesters of her senior year.
Abdul graduated with an M.S. from our Lifespan and Digital Communication program. His background working in policy for organizations like the World Bank translated into a variety of projects, including a series of portable banners for the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, print collateral about flooding for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and dozens of others.
Kiera graduated with an M.S. from our Lifespan and Digital Communication program. ROAR’s first remote student assistant, Kiera produced large scale graphics for ODU departments (including an extensive series of materials for the Strome Entrepreneurial Center), websites for multiple clients, and other projects.
